Chinese entertainer Zhou Xun has joined forces with the United Nations Development Programme to launch a campaign raising environmental awareness.

Zhou Xun, who has three film projects on her schedule, told the Shanghai Morning Post on Wednesday that promoting the new campaign would be a major job for her this year. She is set to travel around China to participate in UNDP-organized activities.
A Chinese UNDP representative told the newspaper that the organization thinks Zhou Xun has a squeaky-clean and positive public image which will help get more people involved in the program.

Hong Kong action director Sammo Hung will be directing a new movie, Xiang Jian, starring Golden Horse award winner Aaron Kwok.
Sammo will also take part in the cast, together with Aaron and China action star Jacky Wu.
Sammo initially planned to have Golden Horse best actress Zhou Xun to form a dream cast with Aaron, but Zhou Xun agents replied that the China actress couldn’t find the time to fit into the filming schedule.
It’s rumored that 3 other famous actresses are interested with the lead actress role, namely Charlie Yeung, Li Bingbing and Ruby Lin.

“Ming Ming,” starring Zhou Xun and Daniel Wu, is an independent movie directed by Susie Au from Hong Kong, which is set to hit the cinemas next March.

The movie was actually an old production, finished almost a year ago. The movie is starring Taiwan singer Jeff Cheung and Tony Yang.

Aaron Kwok and Zhou Xun were named best actor and best actress respectively at the the 43rd Golden Horse Award in Taiwan.

It’s 2nd in a role for Aaron, who won the award with “After This Our Exile” this year; Zhou Xun won with “Perhaps Love.”
