Hong Kong actor Tony Leung quits from movie Red Cliff, which is scheduled to start filming by end of March 2007.
The movie producer stated that Tony couldn’t fit into the schedule after the filming period is extended to 6 months, but they are other rumours.
Rumour #1 - Tony is seeking a pay rise because of the extended filming period; and also because of the movie will be made into part 1 & 2, and his agency felt that the actors should be paid higher.
Rumour #2 - Tony’s relationship with girlfriend Carina Lau is in jeopardy, and he couldn’t take the risk to film a movie for 6 months in China and not being around Carina.
Takeshi Kaneshiro is the most likely replacement for Tony at the moment.

China actress Vicki Zhao Wei and veteran actor Zhang Fengyi have both confirmed to star in Hong Kong director John Woo’s movie Battle of the Red Cliff.

Sheren Tang was one of the 3 TV actors/actresses to be honoured in the first ever recognition award presented by Hong Kong performing Artistes Guild (HKPAG).
HKPAG held their annual Spring Festival dinner on Thursday night (Feb 8) with over hundred of attendees. Also held during the dinner was HKPAG’s first ever Golden Baton Award (*) where the winners were decided by voting from fellow HKPAG members.
Actress Sheren Tang, actor Bobby Au Yong and veteran actor Chung King Fai were honoured at the TV actors category; while Andy Lau, Chow Yun Fat and Tony Leung Chiu Wai were honoured at the movie actors category.

Takeshi Kaneshiro is voted most wanted bachelor in a Taiwan poll.
2nd and 3rd on the list are singer/composer Wang Lee Hom and Jay Chou; while 4th and 5th of the list are Hong Kong artist Tony Leung and Andy Lau.

Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai has revealed that he has phobia of marriage, or Gamophobia.
Tony told his childhood story during a Phoenix-TV talk show, about his suffering when his parents divorced when he was a kid and led to him having no confidence in the marriage system.
Tony felt that as long as a couple stays happy together, marriage is less important. He is lucky to have girlfriend Carina Lau that shows understanding and be with him for the last 18 years.
