Sun Mi takes leave from Wonder Girls

Wonder Girls member Sun Mi, aka Mimi, has announced that she will be leaving the group to take a break from her music career and to pursue her study.

JYP Entertainment said, “Mimi had a truly memorable, once in a lifetime experience while living in the U.S. and touring over 50 cities. We support her decision to pursue an academic career at this time. We will also support Mimi if she chooses to return to singing after her academics are complete. In the meantime, she plans to frequent JYP facilities and continue her dance and vocal classes.”

Mimi will remain with the Wonder Girls in the US, continuing with any scheduled performances and activities until the end of February. As of March, she will return to Korea and prepare to focus on her studies.


Wonder Girls quit school for US debut

Sohee (R2) and Sunmi (L1), the two youngest members of the K-pop group Wonder Girls, have withdrawn from high school to pursue their American debut this summer.

The Wonder Girls will appear as opening act for Jonas Brothers’ tour (June 27 – Aug 29) across US, while their US album will be released in September or October.

Korean pop group Wonder Girls are revolutionising K-pop with their hit song Tell Me. Their popular choreography has became a national dance in South Korea, with many celebrities and fans showing their impersonation on TV shows and online video sites.

International netizens are showing interest with the song too. The MV has gathered over a million views on Youtube.
