Korean actor Kim Rae-won became the latest big name to join the army to fulfil his two years mandatory military service.

He was enlisted on August 13 after bidding farewell with some fans, including 50 supporters who flew over from Japan to send their wishes.

Korean actor Kim Rae-won has joined UNICEF’s activities aimed at helping children worldwide.

Kim has been named a UNICEF Card mentor for 2007-2008 for his upbeat and admirable image created through his acting roles.
The actor plans to participate in various UNICEF activities to help children worldwide. His appointment was praised by designer Andre Kim, UNICEF’s goodwill ambassador, and special representative Kim Mi-hwa.
After the appointment ceremony, Kim and members of his fan club wrote messages of hope for children on a large UNICEF card.
