Chinese film 1911, which is billed as Jackie Chan’s 100th movie, is likely to hit cinemas in China and the United States simultaneously in October.

Distributor Well Go USA has purchased the movie’s North American rights, and aims to help it become the first Asian movie that gets a day-and-date release in the US.

The film, with a former title The 1911 Revolution, is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the monumental Xinhai Revolution that began in 1911 and eventually brought an end to China’s last feudal dynasty.

Taiwanese musician Jay Chou and Hong Kong singer and actor Andy Lau are in hot pursuit in 2nd and 3rd.

The two standards for ranking celebrities are personal income and media exposure rate which is judged from 28 popular newspapers, 18 nationwide TV programs and cover stories in 29 magazines.

4th to 10th are Yao Ming, Zhang Ziyi, Zhao Benshan, Jolin Tsai, Donnie Yen, Liu Xiang and Fan Bingbing.

Hong Kong action superstar Jackie Chan recently revealed that his son Jaycee Fang has given up his American citizenship and take up Chinese citizenship instead.

Jacyee Fang was born and grew up in USA before moving to Hong Kong to make his entertainment debut in 2003.

The switch of citizenship has won praise from the Chinese public. Jackie Chan has also expressed that he is proud of his son’s decision.

The Forbidden Kingdom, starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan, is getting a sequel following its box office success.

The sequel was already planned before the movie was released, but the making of the sequel would only be confirmed if the movie is doing well. Considering that it has topped the North America box office and is doing very well in Asian market, a sequel is now almost a certainty.
