Hong Kong celebrity couple Tony Leung and Carina Lau are going to marry this October according to media speculations. It’s reported that the couple is sending out wedding invitations since last Friday to their friends and relatives.
One of the most celebrated Chinese celebrity couples, Tony Leung (pic) and Carina Lau, is rumoured to be getting married soon.
The couple has been in relationship for almost 2 decades, and rumours about their marriage (and sometimes breakup) have appeared every now and then.
Their marriage could be a reality this round though, as both of them have shared the same thoughts with the press that they might be getting married soon… they normally denied the rumours in the past.
The organizers of China’s 16th Golden Rooster and Full Blossom Film Festival have invited Hong Kong actress Carina Lau as the film and entertainment ambassador of Suzhou, helping promote the upcoming festival, which is due to be held in the city in October.
During an event held on Monday, the renowned HK star, who is also a Suzhou native, said that she would do her best to serve the film festival.
The Golden Rooster and Full Blossom Film Festival, dubbed “China’s Oscar”, is held annually across the country. This year’s festival will fall on October 23.

Hong Kong actor Tony Leung quits from movie Red Cliff, which is scheduled to start filming by end of March 2007.
The movie producer stated that Tony couldn’t fit into the schedule after the filming period is extended to 6 months, but they are other rumours.
Rumour #1 - Tony is seeking a pay rise because of the extended filming period; and also because of the movie will be made into part 1 & 2, and his agency felt that the actors should be paid higher.
Rumour #2 - Tony’s relationship with girlfriend Carina Lau is in jeopardy, and he couldn’t take the risk to film a movie for 6 months in China and not being around Carina.
Takeshi Kaneshiro is the most likely replacement for Tony at the moment.
Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai has revealed that he has phobia of marriage, or Gamophobia.
Tony told his childhood story during a Phoenix-TV talk show, about his suffering when his parents divorced when he was a kid and led to him having no confidence in the marriage system.
Tony felt that as long as a couple stays happy together, marriage is less important. He is lucky to have girlfriend Carina Lau that shows understanding and be with him for the last 18 years.
