The Hyori wave has started! Korean pop star Lee Hyori is topping various music charts following her comeback performance last week.

Hyori released It’s Hyorish, her first album in more than two years, and the popularity is soaring high in Korea at the moment.
The media is expecting her album and songs to dominate all musical charts at the coming weekend. U go girl!

Korean star Ryu Shi-won was rewarded a recognition medal from Japanese emperor for his charity work in Japan.

Ryu Shi-won was lauded for his donations to Niigata earthquake victims in 2007; he was one of the single highest contributors in financial aid for the victims. He is also involved in other community projects both in Korea and Japan.
Ryu Shi-won received the medal and certificate from Niigata’s governor on June 30.

Korean pop star Rain held a fan meeting in Japan on June 30. The star has just finished filming movie Ninja Assassin in Germany and will spend more time with his Asian fans in coming months.

It’s rumoured that Zhang Ziyi will star in the Chinese movie version of popular Korean drama Daejanggeum.

According to reports a production company has invited fame director Zhang Yimou to direct the movie with Hollywood in mind, and Ziyi is the hot favourite to play the lead role, which was played by Lee Young-ae in the original drama.
