Japanese girl group AKB48 breaks their own best selling record with new single Ponytail to Shushu, which sold over 500,000 copies since it was released on May 26.
AKB48′s previous single Sakura no shiori sold over 300,000 copies in February 2010, the best selling single by Japanese female artists in seven years. Obviously the record is broken yet again.
Ponytail to Shushu is also currently the best selling single in 2010.
