Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou is going to make his Hollywood debut in The Green Hornet.
Chou has been cast as Kato, the main character’s sidekick, previously played by the legendary Bruce Lee in the original drama in the 60s.
Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow was previously cast but he pulled out of the production; Korean actor Kwon Sang-woo was once tipped as hot favorite to take the role, but it’s Chou that was chosen.
The movie is scheduled for summer 2009 release; the filming should start pretty soon.
