Popular Korean actress Kim A-jong will be starring in movie 29 Years, which will be her first movie since making her breakthrough with 200 Pounds Beauty.

The movie is based on a popular Korean comic 26 years. Kim will star as an archer whose parent was killed in the Gwangju Democratization Movement in 1980. Her co-star Ryu Seung-beom will star as a gangster who also suffered lost during the movement.
The two characters got together and plan to revenge and assassinate the ex-president of South Korea who caused the bloodshed during the Gwangju Democratization Movement.
The comic was produced in 2006, 26 years after the incident. The movie title is changed to 29 Years to reflect the timeline.
Japanese all girls pop group Morning Musume is in popularity crisis. Their recent singles are not doing well in sales, and their long running variety show Haromoni@ (sequel to Hello! Morning) is doing so poor that TV Tokyo has decided to end the show on Sept 28.

Despite their dropping popularity in Japan, the group is still quite popular in other Asian countries. Morning Musume has began actively expanding their influence outside of Japan with series of promotions and concerts in China, Korea and Taiwan.
Popular Chinese actress Li Bingbing is appointed as the Korean culture ambassador.

She received a certificate from Korean ministry on August 20. She will help promoting Korean culture in China and improve interaction between the two nations.

Korean actor Lee Un, famous with TV drama Coffee Prince, had passed away on Thursday morning after crashing his motorbike into a guard rail.

The actor was on his way home after a party to celebrate the ending of TV drama Mighty Chilwu, but met with the accident.
RIP Lee Un.
