Korean star Bae Yong-jun will voice act in the animated version of popular drama series Winter Sonata.

The actor will take on the role of Jun-sang in the animated series jointly being produced with Japan, which will go into joint production in late March.
The preview of the animated series as well as a video message from Bae will be screened during a press conference in Tokyo on March 28.
Winter Sonata, which aired in 2002 on KBS, became a phenomenal hit in both Korea and Japan. The series was aired in Japan on NHK in 2004, and the huge success of the drama series made Bae one of Asia’s biggest stars.

Charlie Chan, Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan’s father, was laid buried in Gungahlin Cemetery in north Canberra Saturday noon (March 8) after a funeral was held in the morning in the DC Vine Function Center in Canberra.

Jackie Chan and his family members, Charlie’s friends and relatives and local celebrities attended the funeral. Charge d’ affaires of Chinese Embassy Li Jiangning was also present.

Korean star Jang Nara is invited to perform at Beijing Olympic 100-days-countdown event which is going to be held on April 30.

The event will be held in Anhui province, and will be attended by Chinese superstars like Andy Lau and Sun Nan etc.
Announcement of the sequel for Korean blockbuster movie 200 Pounds Beauty is creating huge buzz in Korea.

200 Pounds Beauty was a hit Korean movie in 2006. The story is about a fat girl (but talented singer) who underwent plastic surgery and become a superstar, while also discovering other stuff like love, friendship and family values.
The movie made the leading actress, Kim Ah-jong, a superstar in real life. It is still unknown if she will be casted in the sequel.
Chinese entertainer Zhou Xun has joined forces with the United Nations Development Programme to launch a campaign raising environmental awareness.

Zhou Xun, who has three film projects on her schedule, told the Shanghai Morning Post on Wednesday that promoting the new campaign would be a major job for her this year. She is set to travel around China to participate in UNDP-organized activities.
A Chinese UNDP representative told the newspaper that the organization thinks Zhou Xun has a squeaky-clean and positive public image which will help get more people involved in the program.

Korean pop star Kangta will be joining the Korean army on April 1, 2008. He already revealed his plan in August 2007 that he will be fulfilling his mandatory 2 years military service in early 2008, and seems like it’s becoming a reality.

There are still some time for Kangta to release a new album though; he will also be holding a concert on March 29, which is expected to be a full house with fans from Korea, Japan, China and some other Asian countries.
